Massage Therapy!

This is an unabashed attempt at getting the word out for my good friend and massage therapist Kathleen. She is trying to raise money to start her own sliding scale practice that would include free massages to those lacking the ability to pay at all, but in desparate need of massage therapy. She lives in Gainesville, FL, so if you’re down there, you should most definitely check her out, but even if you don’t, please consider contributing to this wonderful human being’s goal—as all of us are probably too familiar with the insane cost of healthcare and the lack of affordable alternative therapies, this sort of project should get the attention of those in and around the community whom it aims to serve. Thanks for listening! UP THE PUNX & AFFORDABLE WELL-BEING.

Here’s the link to help out her project. According to the amount you donate, various gifts will come to you!

A feminist symbol of the Mexican Revolution, La Adelita was the name of a woman soldier, a soldadera, who followed the troops, helped set up camp, and cooked for the soldiers

The legend states that Adelita was a woman who fought in the Revolution. It is not known if she actually existed as an individual, but she came to epitomize all soldaderas and courageous women of that period.

La Adelita is more than a romantic image to modern-day Chicanas. She continues to symbolize feminine independence, integrity, the fight or justice, and a proud heritage.
